Port St Joe, FL

Entrance to Port St Joe Marina
Today was a beautiful cruising day (65 - 70 degrees)!  We left Panama City and cruised east on the ICW for 32 nm (nautical miles) until we reached the Port St Joe canal and turned right/south toward the Gulf of Mexico.  The canal puts you into St Joseph Bay (entrance to Gulf).  The Bay makes you feel like you have entered the Gulf.  The water got a little choppy and the wind picked up, but very shortly, after turning east, we saw the entrance to Port St Joe Marina.  This marina came highly recommended by cruising friends.  After getting tied up at the transient dock, we walked up to the marina office to check-in.  As we left, we passed the Dockside Oyster Bar.  David & Jill could not resist, so they stopped for a drink and oysters, while bored children went to the boat.  Later, Jill & the kids explored the town a little (lot closed on Sunday).  Lots of stuff is very close (including Piggly Wiggly & McDonalds) and many sidewalks and walking paths.  We will enjoy staying here a few days.

Total miles today:  40nm
Total miles traveled:  1,046 nm
Total cruising days: 15
